posted 16 Jun 2011 23:42 by Sunshine Smile Publications
The winner of the Hillingdon Picture Book of the Year 2011 Award was announced yesterday. The Grunt and The Grouch written by Tracey Corderoy and illustrated by Lee Wildish is the winning title. The award recipient is chosen by school children who read shortlisted titles and prepare a presentation on their favourite book.
The other shortlisted titles for this year's award were:

The Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland - Hodder Children's Books.
Fortunately, Unfortunately by Michael Foreman - Andersen Press.
Three by the Sea by Mini Grey - Jonathan Cape.
Ruby Nettleship and the Ice Lolly Adventure by Thomas Docherty - Templar Publishing.
Zog written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler - Alison Green Books.

Published by Little Tiger Press, The Grunt and The Grouch tells the tale of two horribly delightful characters:

Meet the Grunt - if you dare - the grumpiest troll in the world!
When the Grunt finds a party invitation on his doormat, he is furious - he hates Tuesdays, he hates visitors and he hates parties.
But then he meets the Grouch... and things are never the same again.
