Steve Antony is currently studying for a Masters Degree in
Children's Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, and he
aspires to carve a career in the world of Children's Book Illustration. He has
written and illustrated several of his own children's picture books as part of
his Masters Degree. The Queen's Blue Hat is one of those picture books and it
was created as part of his most recent university assignment. A big thank you to Steve for letting SSP feature this fantastic, fun new story! Here's
a sneak peek into the book and a bit about The Queen’s Blue Hat
from Steve:
"In a newspaper, I saw a really funny photo of
the Queen almost losing her hat to the wind and suddenly I had this image in
my head of the Queen chasing her hat around London. My tutors loved the idea,
so I decided to just run with it. I am really happy with the end result, and I
hope that other people enjoy reading it. I like to think that the book is not
necessarily exclusively aimed at children. It's kind of a funny picture book
that I like to think tourists might enjoy also. Whether this book will ever get
published remains to be seen, but even if it doesn't, I can say that it has
been a great learning experience for me, and I am really happy with the end
result."
